Epernay is a French commune located in the department of Marne in the Champagne-Ardenne. Divided into two cantons of which it is the county seat and a recognized 24,035 inhabitants in 2010, Epernay is the third most populous city of the Marne and Reims behind Chalons-en-Champagne. It is the center of the Community of Municipalities of Epernay-Champagne Country. 

City located in the heart of wine country, with most of its modern history and its economy is linked to the champagne, the production grows from duxviiie century and which is the main tourist attraction. The town also has many protected as historical monuments buildings. 

Its inhabitants are called Sparnaciens.
